OITNB Stars’ Top Contraband Choices if They Were Imprisoned

On  June 11, 2015, the cast of Orange is the new Black gathered for Netflix’s first ever OrangeCon. During the Q&A panel, they were asked what contraband they would bring in if they were imprisoned. The women answered as follows (Click each picture to view their answers):

Danielle Brooks (Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson) would bring her spanx. She later told BuzzFeed that she would bring chocolate into prison.

Adrienne C. Moore (Black Cindy Hayes) would bring a vibrator. She later told BuzzFeed that she would bring her Vape Pen.

Dascha Polanco (Dayanara “Daya” Diaz) would bring condoms (and so would Daya). She later told BuzzFeed that she would bring perfume.

Diane Guerrero (Maritza Ramos) told BuzzFeed that she would bring “wine. I love a glass of wine now and then. White — a good glass of sauvignon blanc with ice.”

Emma Myles (Leanne Taylor) told BuzzFeed that she would bring “my X-Files collection. But that would be hard to hide and to watch. I would just, like, covet it. Is it clear that I love The X-Files? Oh my god. Either The X-Files or some lifetime supply of whiskey.”

Jackie Cruz (Marisol “Flaca” Gonzales) would bring her lipstick because “it makes me feel like a woman.”

Jessica Pimentel (Maria Ruiz) told BuzzFeed that she would bring cigarettes.

Kate Mulgrew (Galina “Red” Reznikov) said she would bring a rubber chicken because she can’t have a real one.

Laverne Cox (Sophia Burset) said she would bring a lace wig.

Lea DeLaria (Carrie “Big Boo” Black) said she would bring Natalie Portman. She later told BuzzFeed: “My vibrator. I’m going to figure out a way to get that fucker in prison, ‘cause I got a mama jama. It’s three speeds and an 8-foot cord. In fact, there’s not enough electricity in my apartment to run it. I have to run a little yellow cord into the subway line, so when I jerk off, the 6 train doesn’t run.”

Lori Petty (Lolly) told BuzzFeed she would bring a “1982 Château Margaux.”

Lorraine Toussaint (Yvonne “Vee” Parker) told BuzzFeed she would bring “[a] down comforter. A good down comforter. I’m addicted to my bed. I give good bed.”

Ruby Rose (Stella Carlin) told BuzzFeed “I would hide a puppy because I can’t live without animals. That wasn’t an analogy for anything — that was like an actual puppy, like a dog.”

Samira Wiley (Poussey Washington) said she would bring “[a]n iPod. And then I’d go in the stall by myself and try to keep my feet still so no one can see me, but I’d be like…” [Does dance moves]

Selenis Leyva (Gloria Mendoza) said that both she and Gloria would want a “freaking pina colada.” She later told BuzzFeed that she was unsure of what she would bring. “Every day it changes, but I think I would probably be hiding a tweezer. Because eyebrows on fleek. Hello! Gotta keep that arch on fleek.”

Taryn Manning (Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett) said she would bring her phone so she could see pictures and read. She would also like to bring her guitar, so she could play in prison.

Taylor Schilling (Piper Chapman) would bring “a real toothbrush.” She later told BuzzFeed that she would also bring in “[a] phone. To call absolutely everyone.”

Uzo Aduba (Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren) would bring pie (the “obligatory answer”). She later asked BuzzFeed: “How much time do you have? I’m gonna lean on the can of Pringles. Love ‘em.”

Yael Stone (Lorna Morello) would bring vitamins. She later told BuzzFeed that she would bring lip balm.

Natasha Lyonne (Nicky Nichols) had a whole list of things she would sneak into prison: “brass knuckles, or like, um, a throwing star, like a kung-fu — a ninja star, in fact, a whole ninja outfit, a lighter, [and] I would like gasoline, but I don’t know why.”

Nick Sandow (Joe Caputo) said he would bring better lotion … Ew!

Michael Harney (C.O. Sam Healy) would bring mind-altering substances.

Laura Prepon (Alex Vause) said she would bring her black eyeliner.
