42 thoughts on “The Felons

  1. Maritza is not Daya’s half sister. She’s not Aleida’s actual daughter, in the premiere episode (“I Wasn’t Ready”) she tells Daya she’s Aleida’s “daughter ” but she means in a prison family kind of way. Like how Nicky is Red’s “daughter” in prison but not her birth daughter. The relationship between Maritza and Aleida is never even seen or brought up again in any other season so it seems like it was a plot line the writers threw out. The only other mention of Maritza in relation to Daya is when Daya is angry at Bennett for throwing Maritza in SHU and says, “I don’t even like the b&tch but in here she’s my sister.” Again she means in a prison family way, not even having to do with Aleida, just that all of the Spanish girls are considered “family “. There have been flashbacks for both Daya and Aleida where we’ve seen the rest of Daya’s actual sisters and there is never a mention of Maritza and absolutely no evidence to support that they are actually half-sisters. Please correct.
